Microbiology and Pathophysiology

Published

I am registered for Microbiology and Pathophysiology both online this Summer at my local community college. Then I plan on registering for Chemistry at the four year university I am accepted into for the fall, but I have to be fulltime to use my scholarship.. would these two together over the Summer be too difficult?

Make sure your 4 year accepts online classes, most do not for required science prerequisites to the nursing program

These three classes are what they asked of me to have before I am allowed to take my clinicals in the Spring 2021.. but I will check to make sure that they can be online to be accepted

Right, but I think your science classes are supposed to be on campus, I mean not that any classes are technically on-campus right now but I would at least register for on-campus ones. I also do not recommend taking micro with physio because they both require a lot of work and studying and you will need good grades in both. Not to mention Summer classes are already compact as it is.

And you have to take anatomy as well, yeah?

I am finishing A&P 2 right now so I won't need that. I just have these three classes to take before Spring of next year so I am trying to figure out the best way to take them within Summer and fall 2020.. What if I took pathophys online this Summer(going with it will be accepted by the 4 year), and then micro and chem in the fall? would that be too much? I know chem is much harder for my friends that have taken it but I don't have too much of a choice given I just have these two semesters to finish three sciences.

For me personally, I think chem was the easiest of all the sciences. I would recommend like you said, to do micro and chem together since you have to take 3 classes in 2 semesters.

I took pathophysiology, micro, A&P 3, and community health together last fall. It was pretty brutal, but I managed to pull off A's in 3 of the 4. Only B was in A&P. Micro and A&P were in-person lab classes, the other two were online-only. If you're an organized student and not doing much outside of school, it's totally possible.
ETA: Seems your school is on the semester system, while mine is on the quarter system. All terms are 10-11 weeks for us.

I didn't have to take pathophysiology but Microbiology is hit or miss. Depending on the professor it might be hard. Also if you have to take a lab.

It all depends on how you manage your time and how much you can handle. Taking two science classes is not recommendable. I am currently in a BSN program and when I took my prereqs I only took 1 science class a semester and it was hard. But since you are going to be online it might be easier on you.

Hey where are you taking these classes? I am looking for a pathophysiology class for this Summer an any leads would help!
