Hello Everyone,
I was just hired as a Functional Analyst in a MEDITECH 6.0 environment. Does anyone have any information to this product? I would greatly appreciate any assistance anyone can provide.
Thanks

CONGRATS on your new role. 6.0 is the most up to date version of Meditech's product
Which modules are you supporting and what exactly is your role?
What is it you want to know about the product?
Your organization should be sending you to training at Meditech in Boston or the more experienced analysts in-house at your hospital might also provide you with that training.
I've built and implemented multiple versions and clinical modules of the Meditech product - primarily Client Server but have supported sites on the Magic platform in both a analyst and project manager role.
I'm currently Project Consultant for a PCM implementation.
PM me, send me your number (DO NOT POST TO THE FORUM) and I can provide additional information.
I'm also sure other's who frequent this forum will reply to you.
You should also post to the MeditechL

Our hospital looked at 6.0 and had the demos here, and attended them at other hospitals. Looks good. We just couldn't work with the timeline to meet Meaningful use. They were swamped with other facilities, bigger than ours, who were in line to sign up...so we were small fish, and stuck in the pond.
that and the dictionary conversion from Magic to 6.0 it was 19 pages of dictionary fields that had to be dealt with....and our IT staff is 2 people! looks like a decent product.
Good luck!

Angela,
How do i send you a PM? I was tagged to partner with our CMIO in the design of our CPOE - currently on Meditech C/S 5.6 version and planning on going live next year.
I will also need feedback on CPOE vs Care Plan.
Thanks so much.
RN_wannabee,
Go to the Meditech website. I found the website to be cumbersome and not intuitive, so you have to navigate on most if not all of the clinical applications. The documents i.e. Manuals are often not updated. When you think the tab will say 6.0 and open the document to find 5.6... This is my experience..
You need a user name and password to access the Meditech website.
Utilizing MT's website to search for information is an aquired skill. Basically if you do it long enough to can find a good deal of up to date info. The KBA are good.........all depends on exactly what it is you are lookng for. I wouldn't direct a new user nor a person new in their role to the site without assistance.

Meditech 6.0 as an end user really sucks!!!! Hope you have thick skin to deal with all the hassle it creates. It is not USER friendly, takes way too long to find the information and is probably the worse thing I've used as an RN in many years.....seriously making me think I need to move away from health care....be warned...it impacts pt care greatly!!! It does not make it safer...and to add to this we also use Emar Bmv......in conjuction....being totally electronic, esp in critical situations has to be the most scary and futile waste of time....documenting on a sick sick pt is very hard....anyone picking up the chart to follow on, does NOT get a clear picture of how that person presented & or changes, especially in the ED setting in which I work.....I hate the system!
