Medical Errors

I am needing a few articles on medical errors and how they could be avoided. Does anyone have any links they could share? I have a project due next Thursday.

Thanks

the institute for safe medication practices at http://www.ismp.org specifically tracks medication errors and makes recommendations to health care professionals on how to avoid future errors. on their site you can search for errors involving specific medications. they publish a newsletter where many of their recommendations are published.

at the home page of the agency for healthcare research and quality site that ericenfermero has listed above http://www.webmm.ahrq.gov/ is a link on their menu bar to case archives which are here http://www.webmm.ahrq.gov/casearchive.aspx you can read a number of articles about past errors although not all of them are medication related.

the ismp site is the one she gave us. she told us last night that they were knocking that requirement from the class for summer. they are realizing that there just in not enough time for us to get it all done. i am going to keep these links though. i am sure they will be needed at some point. if not for me, then someone will be able to use them. i know i can always count of everyone at allnurses. thank you sooo much daytonite.

Good to know the different webs, you guys are great at helping one another!!!
