Good afternoon to all. I applied to medgar evers AAS program January 2015, which I then received my test date within the 3rd week of February. I then received a response for the interview at the end of the 3rd week in April with the interview date set for the first weekend in May. I still haven't received a response regarding their overall decision for the program. Any current student who has gone through this process preferably in 2014 can shed some insight on when I can expect a response will be greatly appreciated thanks in advance. 😊

Hi godbless111
I applied for the program as well! So hopefully we both get in. I actually called them because it's been about a month since the interview and they told me letters were being mailed out Thursday morning. Hopefully we hear good news by Saturday.
Great! Thank you so much let's keep praying and our fingers crossed ☺

Do you guys mind sharing your grades and gpa? I'm thinking of transferring so I just want an idea of what grades get in.

I was told last week Tuesday by the secretary they would be mailing it that week. But I still have not received anything. I believe they are waiting for the grades spring 2015 before making a final decision. I'm hoping the letters arrive this week. Good luck to everyone :)
Ap1 B+ math 136 A Ap2 lecture B lab B+ Chem 105 lecture A- lab B+ CIS 101 A+. I have also taken Psyc 229 and received an A. This course isn't necessary for the ASN program. My gpa to date is a 3.614. I'm hoping for all good news. Let me know if this helps.
You definitely have a great chance of getting in. How was your nln score
My grades aren't the best but for a&p the 150 sequence, 150 B, 151 A, 152 A, psych A-, chem lecture B, chem lab A-, micro lecture B, micro lab C (just re-took the course and got an A-) math120 A , math136 A overall gpa is a 3.4 note: I only posted my science and math courses
I would like all to take into account that GPA isn't the only factor that matters, but your overall performance (NLN score, interview session as well as your GPA) is taken into account. I spoke with 2 students one who was admitted into the bridge program (LPN to RN) with a 2.9 GPA and the other who graduated from the school a few yrs back from the LPN program and returned to do her associates with a GPA of 3.0. So no one is counted out. If they considered you for an interview that means you are doing something right. ☺
Currently GPA: 3.7
taken @ MEC: math A, Chem A-, chem lab A+, Cis A, a&p 1 lab: A-, a&p B, a&p 2 grade IP, a&p lab IP
Taken at other colleges: psych A, English A-
Nln was 141
even with all of that, there is still no guarantee. I heard people with nln scores in the 80's got interviewed even though they supposedly only interviewed applicants with 100+.
honestly I'd say apply for the program but also apply for other cuny programs. Get an e-permit to take classes at 2 schools to better your odds at getting in to at least 1.
The reason why so many people who scored below 100 received interviews was because this was the lowest scoring group for the NLN so I was told.
Wow 2.9????? Didn't think that was possible thank you all for responding. I've been out of school for awhile and not sure whether to return to my old college or transfer somewhere closer
