Haven't taken boards in eons but from a med surg nurse I'd say antibiotics, heart and bp meds, cholesterol lowering meds, diabetic meds and insulins, narcotics and pain meds.

There weren't many questions about meds when I took the NCLEX-PN. The questions had mainly to do with prioritizing.

you just never know what the nclex will hit you with.

also, psychotropics you may want to brush up on.

practically all the institutionalized elderly, are on one or more.

and the antacids, proton pump inhibs for gi motility.

i would study the most commonly used of all types of meds.

I thought protease inhibitors were indicated for the treatment of HIV. I had no idea they're using them for GI motility now.

thanks everyone - my studying is going pretty good - but who knows what shape I'll be in mentally when I sit for the test. I have a job waiting for me so I REALLY need to pass. I just graduated with a 3.64 GPA but that doesn't mean squat.

Oh, good, what a relief! I was worried there was a new use for protease inhibitors that I didn't know about. I even did a google search on protease inhibitors and GI motility!

I'll be taking the NCLEX-RN in a few months, and really don't need any surprises like that!:D
