Me becoming an RN

Published

I am right now currently finishing up my prereq's and then off to nursing school. I have spent years working in business and large corporate businesses, and after reading many comments that other nurses leave on this site, it makes me feel more eager to go into this field of work. I notice in my current corporate work environment that people are selfish, rude and greedy. Of course that will be anyplace else, but knowing that I am going into a field where people actually care about others and work together as a team to accomplish things makes me feel good. I have a strong passion for nursing mostly because I feel that I am best suited to help and care for others who are in need. We all will be there one day. My only worries now is that working a full time job and going to school full time. I know there are some nurses out there that have done it, and if so, please share your story so I can have some hope for me down the road. Thanks alot.

I didn't work full time during nursing school; I worked 2 12's, every Sat & Sun and it was quite doable. The problem with working full time is that most nursing programs are 4 to 5 days a week so squeezing in both work and studying will be a real challenge. But, like you said, some hearty souls have done it. Good luck with your pursuit of nursing.

I worked 32hrs/week during nursing school. All I did was work, sleep, study, and go to school for two years, but I pulled it off.
