MDC Spring 2012 :)

Hello everyone. I was wondering for those that have started reading the fundies book, what chapter did you start with? I want to get started reading but I would like to see what chapter(s) are best to begin with.

Are you talking about the SFL Workforce in Homestead? I have been calling them. They are quite pretty good about everything. Remember, one of the requirement is that you have to be unemployed and you have been using employflorida. They said that I already been approved but they cannot issue the voucher because they are having an issue with their account with MDC. Until then, they requested today to extend my payment until the end of the month.

I cannot wait for them to reconcile the account so that I can get my books and uniforms too.

Anybody else having the same issue about the WIA???

I went to the one in Little Havana. They first said they can't do it. But yesterday they took all my paperwork to put the case together. I already paid for all my stuff, but gave them an unpaid schedule of classes. If they are gonna pay, MDC will give me my money back once the workforce money arrive.

I bought mine in Kmart. They were $25, are super comfortable, and leather. :)

I already received the orientation packet and was able to register for my classes. I bought most of the books already and am waiting for them to come in so I can start reading. The school's media services messed up on 2nd part of the orientation video for AO so I am still unsure as to what was said and what is expected of us outside of the information present in the student handbook. Did anyone understand when exactly when we wear the lab coat and when we wear the uniform? Oh and gquin008 do we need all the books on the list for NUR1025 there is like 7 books for that one class? Thanks in advance

That I know we must wear the uniform only to the clinicals, and the lab coat when we go to the skill labs. And even though you didn't ask me, I believe that we'll be using all the books listed for NUR1025 except the Curriculum. :)

About the books, I think that is a question for someone who has already gone through the course. I am sure there are some we may barely use, but since I am not sure I bought all of them. I did most of the shopping online which comes out a bit cheaper than buying at the mdc bookstore, but it is still pretty costly especially when you add uniform and other accessories.

Thanks for the uniform info. I was confused about that too. The handbook makes it seem like you have to wear the uniform at all times, except in labs where you can wear business attire with the lab coat.
