MCCD/CEP for Spring 2017

Published

Hello future nurse students,I was wondering if anyone submitted their MCCD CEP Spring '17 Application yet? If so when did you submit it and what was your first choice, second and third school? Also what was your GPA and Hesi score?

I haven't. I need to take the HESI as soon as I finish finals this semester. What is the deadline for the app for 2017?

Talking to an advisor one of the colleges, they stated that the spring '17 CEP application deadline is May 31. I don't know if its for all the colleges but that particular advisor told me. If anyone knows anything else, please share.

so what school will be your first choice?

Hi, Im not apply for Spring 2017, but I am applying for Fall 17. Im super excited. I'll be applying in January for GWCC/NAU evenings.

From my knowledge, the May deadline is for all campuses :)

Hello! I turned in my CEP application in April and it was finalized on April 7th. I was told I will hear something back around june/july. My hesi was 90% for english and 90% for math. GPA i am not sure but was told i met the gpa requirements for CEP. I applied to upper iowa.. with GCC as my first choice.

Hey jessjo3, Did your advisor mention the rubric points they use to select CEP Applicants? I think they use 3-4 category such as preres, gpa, hesi score, etc.

And if I ask, why did you choose upper iowa? is it because lower tuition or they have better reputation than nau and asu, just curious

Yes they did mention the rubric points. I chose upper iowa because i have a masters degree already and they used some of those classes to waive a few. They also didn't require pathophysiology which i would have needed to take for other schools. Alsoooo the upper iowa advisors are extremely prompt in replying and very helpful. They have already done a pre-assessment for me if and when I enter their program.

Thank you jessjo3, that's really nice that they waived few classes and already done a pre-assessment.

it seems like June/July will be far and waiting will be a nerve racking lol. I hope we all get in and our first choices

If you're attending or attended MCC nursing especially CEP program. Can someone share with us what their experiences were or are during the program, such as what's hard, easy, doable or not doable, likes, dislike, lecture & clinical instructors? Also when you do clinicals, do you have a nurse preceptor that you follow around the whole clinical shift, if so which block? I am just curious and be prepared and also I know that the whole program is the same but every schools' teaching method is different depend on instructors, and that's why I want what some people's experiences. All your inputs are greatly appreciated

just found out today that i was accepted into my CEP school..just waiting to hear back to see which maricopa school i was placed at.

congratulation jessjo3. I thought they won't notify til mid summer but that was quick (unless its only applies to GCC). I though when you get placed they tell you which school right away. Did you pick GCC's traditional, evening or weekend?
