I just found out there are openings for the May LPN program! I had previously been told that nothing was open until October so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! It would start the week after I finish finals at the community college so the timing would be great. The only down-side is that it's an evening class and I really wanted days. The day program runs 11 months and the night runs 15 but I already have several of the classes so they tell me I could start ahead and will finish early. In the day program I was told I could probably do it in 6 months. Hopefully the evening class won't take me that much longer. So if there's a May opening I could be a nurse by this time next year! Woo hoo! Wish me luck!

That's great news! When will you know for sure if there are openings?

The best of luck to you. If it is meant to be, it will happen, so try not to stress too much. Of course, I've looked it up in the dictionary, and Nurse and Stress go hand in hand. :rotfl:

Woogy

Good luck! If it's God's will, you will do it and it will happen. God bless!!!!

Well, they had stopped accepting applications because the waiting list is so long but they're accepting them starting Feb 6. The lady I talked to told me to be there at 7:30am that morning with the completed app and all college transcripts and I had a pretty good chance. Unfortunately the LPN program has limited prereq's and it's mostly a first-come-first-taken basis. I found out that my preacher's wife is one of the directors in the health department at the school though and I'm going to talk to her. You know the old say "it's not what you know, it's who you know!"
