Just wondering what the maximum number of visitors your NICU allows at the bedside is? The unit I work in allows only 2 visitors max, no exceptions. However I was talking with a friend who works in a neighboring NICU, and she says they allow up to 4. That seems like a lot to me.
How about your NICU units?

2 at the bedside and one needs to be a parent (exception is palliative care, no limit and we try to move the baby to Peds for their own room).

2, unless withdrawing support or something like that. And in those cases, we usually try to move the baby to one of our ECMO rooms or nesting rooms.

4 per bedspace, so that means 8 swarming visitors for twins and 12 for triplets. It's a zoo.

We allow 4 at bedside. Either parents can bring whoever they like with them, or appoint 4 people who are allowed to visit without parents.

4 people is nuts lol! I'd be elbowing people out of the way to try to reach the baby. Not to mention how some visitors breathe down your neck when you're doing baby up or wave a giant camera around trying to get a shot of the baby. We only allow three which must include either mum or dad.
We stopped with the multiples being able to have multiple visitors after other families complained. Don't blame them. So it is 3 visitors per family when
multiples are involved.
