Are there any Maryville students or graduates out there? I plan to start Fall 2008 (seems like such a long time away). I heard it was kind of a hard, but a really good school.
And speaking of hard.....
I'm really scared of nursing school. I mean, I barely made it through A&P I. I think about giving up every day but I'm trying to hang in there. I'm currently taking A&P II which, for now, is going good.

i'm a graduate of umsl, so i can't offer you specific information regarding maryville. i spoke with a few students during my clinical rotations that were attending maryville, and no complaints other than it was challenging! here are links to a few older threads regarding maryville....

nursing school can be difficult at times, but if you have the dedication (and some very good study habits), you will make it through! the best advice i can give to you is keep your grades up throughout your prereq classes - these classes will be the foundation to your nursing courses and good grades will give you the best shot at getting accepted into the nursing program.
good luck!

As usual, StlRn2b1206 provides a great response! I don't know much about Maryville's RN program, but did get my first BS in Information Systems there and it's a good school.
I spoke to one recent RN grad during a clinical experience and asked what she thought of Maryville; she said she was returning for her master's there, so "it must be pretty good"....
Best wishes!!

I am applying for the Fall 2007 WEC program. I am dying waiting to hear if I made it into the program or not. I am not currently a student so they said we would have to wait for a response a lil longer. AHAHA! lol.
Good Luck, let "allnurses" know WHEN you get accepted. I just need to take microbiology and statistics before I can apply.
:roll Congrats
I will!! Currently I am in AP2 and Micro and that is all I have left to do! I just finished Stats and Anatomy. I reccomend trying to get a Stats course that is a sociological one NOT a math one. I had to take a math one and it stunk although I managed to do all right in it. It often made me want to bang my head against a wall!
ETA: Thanks for the "when" I get accepted. :) I sure hope so!
Just make sure that the stats class is acceptable in other programs, too...when I was looking in to accelerated programs at UMSL and SLU, they wanted me to send the "course catalong" description before they would accept/transfer a graduate-level stats class I had taken at Maryville. That is one class you surely don't want to have to do over many years down the line!! If you might eventually want to get in to a Master's program, you want to be sure to have all your T's crossed and I's dotted!! :)
Thanks, just to be on the safe side, I just might take it at Maryville. I am definately not looking forward to that class.
(I just thought this was cute)
Oh I totally agree with wdw! I emailed my course descriptions to Maryville and got it approved before taking it. Great advice WDW!

I was just wondering if you ended up going to Maryville? If so, how's it going? Did you have previous Maryville credits, and if not, did this make it harder to get in? I know they have a new policy about people with Maryville credits being the first applicants to be considered. Anyway, I'd love to hear what you ended up doing and anything at all you can tell me about Maryville. Thanks!
