Mar 30, 201412 yr Author Yeah I'm trying to avoid the 5 8's...that sucks...are you 5 on 2 off (ie rotate or do you have set schedule).
Mar 30, 201412 yr I work three 12 hour shifts a week, 7a-7p, set schedule. For example, on Sat and Sun, off Mon - Wed, on Thu and Fri, off Sat - Mon, On Tue and Wed, off Thu and Fri, then it repeats. Always on the same unit. Another nurse has a similar schedule, working the days I'm off, and a float nurse works the odd days that neither of us is there. Night shift has the same schedules. It's great for continuity of care. When I first started as a nurse, I did three 12 in a row. Hated it. By the end of the 3rd day I was totally fried.
Mar 31, 201412 yr Author I work 3 days 1 night then 5 days off. I love it!That sounds like a pretty AWESOME setup! I can only hope I'm as lucky :)
Apr 1, 201412 yr I work 3 12's but schedule varies because I'm in school as well. Weekends are always still rotated.
Apr 11, 201412 yr I work every sun, mon, tues Night. Which I love because I have weekends off with my family. In the fall I'm going to weekends though since I'm starting school. I'm lucky my work is very flexible with my schedule and very supportive of there employees going back to school.
What is your schedule like? Is it 3 on 4 off or do you have a set schedule?
