LVN's who work 3 12's

What is your schedule like? Is it 3 on 4 off or do you have a set schedule?

I work 5 8's now, and it sucks. I would much prefer 3 12's, or even 4 10's.

Yeah I'm trying to avoid the 5 8's...that sucks...are you 5 on 2 off (ie rotate or do you have set schedule).

I work 3 days 1 night then 5 days off. I love it!

I work three 12 hour shifts a week, 7a-7p, set schedule. For example, on Sat and Sun, off Mon - Wed, on Thu and Fri, off Sat - Mon, On Tue and Wed, off Thu and Fri, then it repeats. Always on the same unit. Another nurse has a similar schedule, working the days I'm off, and a float nurse works the odd days that neither of us is there. Night shift has the same schedules. It's great for continuity of care.

When I first started as a nurse, I did three 12 in a row. Hated it. By the end of the 3rd day I was totally fried.

That sounds like a pretty AWESOME setup! I can only hope I'm as lucky :)

3 12s; set schedule; M,T,R (Thursday), 7a-7p

love my 3 day weekends

I work 3 12's but schedule varies because I'm in school as well. Weekends are always still rotated.

I work every sun, mon, tues Night. Which I love because I have weekends off with my family. In the fall I'm going to weekends though since I'm starting school. I'm lucky my work is very flexible with my schedule and very supportive of there employees going back to school.
