LVN's how much you make in 2010?

so, i'm kind of calculating my coming expenses for school and the loans i'll be taking out. I want to have an idea of how much LVN's make 2010. i know there are other threads, but they are not current. I see that people for some reason hate posting how much they make, but honestly, it's not like i'm going to come to your state and location and steal your job. so, please, i just need to have an idea to see if i can pay back my loans and pay my bills once i have the job. Thank you very much.

    I'm impressed by by your wages as an LVN/LPN too! I'm an RN that works for a school district for 6 1/2 hrs a day and make $22,000 a year salaried. Granted, I get 2 1/2 months off for summer, 2 weeks at Christmas, 5 days at Thanksgiving, a week long Spring break, AND a week long Fall break.

    Your area makes a huge difference in your wages, but I've found that in the places where wages are lower, so is the cost of living. The exception to that would be Texas. If I could work anywhere in the US other than CA- Lonestar State, baby. :)

    Remember to factor in benefits to the average rate as well. Salary.com estimates are high for my area. Looks like $18--$22 about right.

    Wow, that's so little! What state? I was an LVN at a State University in a student health center. Yes, I worked 8 hour days, but i had the two weeks off at christmas, and all the same holidays as you. But I made approximately 40,000. This was in California granted, but that's definitely not very much.

    As a GPN, I started out at 18. in a SNF. Double time if I work my weekends off. I'm hoping the pay for RN is much much better. I have 5 more excelsior tests to finish then I can take my CPNE and boards!! YAY!!! I want to get into the ER. I don't like LTC!

    Here in Dallas Texas I graduated as an RN in Dec of last year. Everyone in my graduating class who started to work for hospitals in the area started at between $21 and $24 an hour + shift diffs which vary widely depending on what hospital and if the area was a specialty area. I have a friend who started in home health, and another in LTC and the pay was less. Starting LVN pay is less than RN pay so at least that gives you some idea.

    Arizona is where I work, a right to work state. I haven't made this little since I was a CNA in the 70's! But I do have fully paid health insurance, something I haven't had in a year. But at least it's a job, and there is not many out there I can still do.

    And I like working with the kids!
