Jun 2, 201412 yr I have been an LVN for 7 years. I recently became an RN (found out Friday!) and coincidentally it's time to renew my LVN license. Do you guys suggest keeping an LVN and an RN license? I'm not sure what to do but would appreciate some advice. Thanks! Jun 2, 201412 yr Experts It depends on the availability of jobs in your local employment market.I personally had to continue working as an LVN for about 6 weeks after having received my RN license due to the tight nursing job market in the metro area where I reside.

I love my job and will just be transitioning into an RN role but in the same position I've had for a while. Luckily, where I live the job market for nurses isn't suffering too much.
