I just got the call last week I have been accepted to LSU! Starting Aug. 2010. Does anyone in the program have any advice on apartments in New Orleans or taking any of the classes early this summer?

congrats! i'm actually waiting on an interview myself to lsu. any interview tips/advice? i also asked about taking classes in the summer. pharmacology and health assessment taken may lessen the fall semseter load but it's not necessary, at least that's what was told to me. as far as the apartment situation, do you have any idea of the area you want to stay in?

The interview seemed laid back questions were pretty basic. I don't know anyone who has ever applied or gone there, so I was just hoping it would be similar to other schools interview questions. I was thinking the downtown area close to the school for apartments? I am not familiar with the area though. Good luck on the interview!

Congrats! I am applying at LSU also and I am curious to know how you already have your acceptance... I was told that they would not be conducting the interviews until Late Feb through March?? When did you do your interview and how was it?

I have been looking at housing in New Orleans as well just to get an idea of what would be available... ForRent.com has in my opinion, the best listing of apartments and NOLA.com classifieds has a good listing of apartments, condos, houses, etc..

Txflightrn- I heard they started doing early interviews & acceptance. Everyone will no by march if they got in.

Msrn 25-The downtown area isn't exactly safe. I work by the school & there is a lot of crime. Research it well before you decide.

where did you take the grad level statistics course?

Hey you guys, I just got a call this am, and have an interview with LSU next Friday the 22nd. I too am wondering what kind of interview questions they ask, and what to expect. Anyone who can shed some light on the interview process, please chime in. The actual deadline is February 4th, but I heard they are interviewing early, and letting people know if they got it. Works for me.

Congratualations!

THe Saulet is nice or anywhere in the Warehouse district is nice......depends on how much you are willing to spend. Lakeview is nice(be sure to buy rent insurance) not far from LSU that where I live when I was in undergrad there. Good luck in finding a place.

I lived in the Lower Garden District for many years - inexpensive, at least pre-Katrina, relatively safe (for NO), and super convenient. I actually walked to LSUHSC for nursing courses, but only because I didn't own a car (it's a few miles). Visit New Orleans and walk some neighborhoods before you commit to where you're going to live - it's a city like no other, and it's not for everyone. Some people may be more comfortable in the suburbs - Metairie is the closest to school - or over on the West Bank or North Shore, but when I move back it will be Lower Garden or bust. The upper Garden is nice as well, but pricier, and the Irish Channel is a little cheaper but the neighborhood can be a little dicier. You can also find inexpensive housing way Uptown, near Tulane and Loyola, and it's mostly other students around you (with the noise problems that entails). I live in FL now, but I'm applying to LSU for 2011. Good luck to all!

Hey Buck, can you shed any info. on the LSU interviw process, questions or format?
