  1. Italy123 do not let anyone discourage you. I have 3 years icu experience and my ccrn. I am getting ready to start a program in august and I knew before I even started nursing school that this was my goal. Sometimes you just hear about something and know that it's meant for you. After shadowing a crna and doing the research on programs it just reconfirmed what I already knew. Besides most college students who enter premed to become a physician have never worked in a hospital. Don't give up! Competition is steep but it's definitely an obtainable goal if you are committed :)
  2. Thanks natbug. Will you also send your aunts info to me as well Txflightrn the k state class is from Jan to may.
  3. We live about 6 hrs from there at the ms/tn state line in Southaven ms just outside Memphis tn. Where do you guys live? I would like to rent a house and have been looking a lot on craigslist. Where do you guys live? That's good that your husband found a job. My husband is not in the medical field so he will probably have a harder time. When do you plan on moving?
  4. sent apps in November to Olol, UT Knox, union, Lincoln, but the others besides olol won't be interviewing for a couple of mo. So I will just decline if I get them, because I am going forward with making moving arrangements etc. What about you?
  5. We were looking at Metairie and some apts in the city. Slidell looks nice too but I thought it might be too far. We are going to look around in person in 2 weeks. When I was there for the interview I didn't have time to look around. I just went straight there and back. Does your husband have to find a new job?
  6. Bucknangler, I don't have enough posts to message yet, but I still have not heard anything. Sounds good for you though, at least you have heard something. I thought the interview went well, but who knows! I sent an email Monday but have heard nothing back.
  7. I asked what stat class would transfer and she wrote down a few and this was one. I called Phoenix and they were telling me there was some grad level prereqs to take theirs so I just went with k state, it's going good so far. One thing I learned about Phoenix is that you can start any month you don't have to wait on the next semester to start, so that might be a good option. Maybe whoever you talk to will know more about if there are prereqs or not. My husband will be looking for a job when we move so if anyone knows of anything let me know. He has his associates in business and has mostly worked in sales and retail:)
  8. Have you heard from olol yet? I have not but saw a post someone said they were having a dilemma deciding by lsu and olol and they had gotten in. I thought they were still interviewing for a couple of more days? Good luck!
  9. I did not know I had all the replies until today I logged on to look at something else. I only got an email notification with the 1st response. Thanks for all the advice about the area. I will look into all the diff recommendations for housing. Congrats to the others who got in! Look forward to meeting you! And to answer the interview questions I was asked two basic clinical questions and the rest was getting to know you type questions. They were really nice! So don't stress Buckmangler I am taking the stat class now online at Kansas state
  10. I also was accepted to lsu and interviewed at olol. I have not heard from olol though. Did they call you yesterday? I am from ms and don't know anyone who has attended, but congratulations!
  11. The interview seemed laid back questions were pretty basic. I don't know anyone who has ever applied or gone there, so I was just hoping it would be similar to other schools interview questions. I was thinking the downtown area close to the school for apartments? I am not familiar with the area though. Good luck on the interview!
  12. I just got the call last week I have been accepted to LSU! Starting Aug. 2010. Does anyone in the program have any advice on apartments in New Orleans or taking any of the classes early this summer?
  13. Bucknangler, yes I am from MS. Right next to the state line near Memphis, TN. Everyone at LSU was really nice and hopefully I will hear something soon. I also have an interview at OLOL. I also applied to a couple of other schools in TN (Union Univ, Lincoln Memorial, UT Knoxville), but their deadlines aren't until Feb and April. Where are you taking the stats class? I got the info from LSU for the class at U of Phoenix but called them and am waiting to hear back, but they said there are prerequisites for it. I just have 1 stats class that I took with my BSN.
  14. Bucknangler, I just joined the site and am trying to learn how to use it, but have been on the site to read posts in the past. I saw that you are applying to LSU. Have you interviewed yet? I know the deadline is not until feb but they did some early interviews earlier this week. Mine was on Monday.
