Are you currently a RN? I'm confused. You have to have nursing experience for a NP program. Plus, I didn't know there were accelerated NP programs? I may be wrong on that. Are you wanting your MSN or doctorate? I didn't think that low of a gpa would get you into a ADN program much less a NP program. But I thought you had to have 2 years of critical care experience before applying to a NP program. So my original question is are you currently a practicing RN. If so is it a ADN or BSN?

There are some direct entry NP programs out there.. it's that GPA that's going to that's going to be tough.

DEMSN programs are pretty competitive. It's honestly not very likely that you'll be accepted into one with that GPA. There may be a money-grubbing for-profit university that would be willing to help lighten your wallet, but they likely have a very low NCLEX pass rate and a second-rate program.

I just...sigh. OK, is this your overall gpa or is this the gpa for your prerequisites? Have you taken any of your prerequisites yet? Some schools will look at your cumulative gpa and some will only look at your prerequisite gpa. Keeping that in mind, like Runbabyrun said, I do not know of a single accelerated program that does not look at your cumulative gpa and the gpa requirements for all are at least 3.0. "3.0" though is usually not high enough to be competitive when so many applicants will be applying with a 3.8 or higher cumulative gpa.

Your GPA is pretty low to apply to nursing school. I know that the direct entry MSN programs by me require at least a 3.0 science GPA & 3.0 cumulative GPA, although with competition the average is around a 3.5. I recommend you look into a program (probably associate or bachelors) that only looks at your pre req GPA & you ace those courses. Getting into nursing school, especially with a lower GPA, is a slow process.
