Looking for RN-BSN online programs

I've been researching and now I'm so confused. I've applied to KSU for summer 2010, but will probably have to take organic chem first. A girl at work is in her last semester at Chamberlain. She thought it was more expensive, but from what I've seen and been told it's comparable to KSU. I'd like to go on to get my MSN FNP, but I have this window open now before my son begins college. Chamberlain is faster and I think has less pre req.

Any sound suggestions are greatly appreciated. I'm paying out of pocket with a few scholarships I can apply for, but having a tough time convincing my husband. I've done well in my career but wish to go further. That BSN has always haunted me but hubby deal never felt it was something I needed to obtain taking money and time away from the family.... yea, I know.... lol.

Thanks in advance.

I'm in the same position...comparing the seemingly endless options for RN-BSN programs. I'm just as confused as it sounds like you are. I do know that Univ. of Wyoming's online program seems to be among the cheapest out there at $134/credit hour and can be finished in a year if you have the prereqs to do it. One bad thing is that they won't even evaluate your transcript until you are "admitted" to their school which I believe involves about $75. I'm still researching.

I've narrowed my search (for now) down to two schools , University of Toledo and Jasksonville University. These schools appeal to me because they do not require you to go to school in the summer and i did like their class selection. Yes you are right it is very expensive and I am still not sure about even if I will choose one of these. JU will waive your application fee if you apply and have your transcripts to them in a certain length of time. Thanks for starting this thread as I am anxious to hear what others think about all the schools as well.

I would be looking at programs that do not require clinical classes so Chamberlain would be right up near the top of the list.

Have you checked out Western Governors University? It is on my top 3 list. I found it to be the cheapest and no clinical for BSN; I am even thinking of doing their RN-MSN because it is so cheap and getting a post masters FNP at a local university. Just my thoughts.

I've thought about WGU and University of Wyoming also. Since I'm in CA I just might go with a California University because of the cost. I'm still undecided as to where to go. I know WGU does not require clinical classes for the RN-BSN.

Does their program start different times of the year? for example, fall and spring?
