Looking for a Preceptor

Hi all! I'm Danielle, and I'm starting the Associate's in Midwifery program at The National College of Midwifery this summer, and am in need of two preceptors. This preceptor/student relationship is a little different than most, in that my entire academic career rests with my preceptor. Academically, I will be completing courses online, but clinically all my experience will come from my work with a teacher. There are specific requirements to be a preceptor, found here, and I also found a great article about what to expect as a preceptor here. If you are, or know someone who might be, interested in helping me, I would greatly appreciate it. I am willing to relocate from my current location (Tucson, AZ), but would prefer not to go too far! I'm very passionate about my career choice, and so ready to dive in and start learning. My Associate's should take three years of training, and I hope to move on after that to earning my Bachelor's. Thank you for your time and advice!

    I've never heard of an associates in midwifery, is this a nursing program? Could you give a little more info about your program and how you earn a CNM? Thanks!!

    I hope you find someone to be your preceptor. However, I am not sure this is the forum to find one. This is a nursing site and the Midwives here are going to be master degree Nurse Midwives, not direct entry / lay midwives. Hopefully your school can direct you to other lay midwives or will have a list of people that have previously been preceptors for your school.

    Just wanted to mention that Direct-Entry midwives can work under a CNM

    OR a CPM for their preceptership.
