Hi,

When securing the LMO by our respective employers( Canada),is the CRNE eligibility needed ? does it take long to process an LMO?

Thanks,

LMO is tied to the job so will depend on employer. Most employers will want to know you have eligibility from the college. As far as I am aware it doesn't take long to process LMO

Specializes in intensive care, recovery, anesthetics.

LMO just takes a couple of days.

But for the Visa you will need the eligibility letter.

yes the LMO just takes a couple of days because nursing is one of those profession for which the e-LMO is available. A regular one would take weeks it is was for a different profession.

Specializes in med/surg.

your employer will most likely not be able to get an LMO unless you have been deemed eligible for the CRNE because one of the criteria of the LMO is that you meet the registration requirements for the job you are applying for.

For nursing that means you must meet the requirements of the College of nursing for the Province to which you're applying, which essentially means you will need to be elligible to take the CRNE.
