Lippincott vs Saunders????

I've never tried lippencott, but I used Saunders and Kaplan. Saunders was good for comprehensive review but regarding the questions, it was too easy.

What would you recommend? Any sugesstions for passing nclex?

I would say concentrate on answering questions and reading the rationale, only review if you think it is an area you are not doing well in.

Maybe after reviewing the content and exercise more, you will find it getting easier! I guess what other replies meant that Saunders is good in its content review whereas Kaplan may be better at test taking strategies and question format.

I tried saunders but it just didn't work out. All my class mates used it. I focused on Exam-cram. Passed first time only plus 4 or 5 questions.

It is not really a question of what book, but how confident you are.

It may be harder for you b/c you may be lacking content/knowledge in a certain area. Saunders questions are mainly content/knowledge based, so you need to know the content in order to answer the questions. Hope this makes sense.

Confused on which book i should focus on review for the nclex, myself like evryone else wishes despirately to pass the firt time! Can any one be honest and share their experince and offer advice or sugeestion? Any information would be so appreciated.

Dont read only review book weather its saunder or any book. Becuase saunder has lot of info which is very hard to remeber everything... U must have review book only for reference ( If u dont know any disease then go and look in review book ) but do lot of questions from cd or book......the more u do questions then more u will be able to crack answer.. I have learned lot of things from Exam cram question and answer book, which has only 1000 questions and the way they write very helpful........ So do 5000 to 6000 thousands questions

As u know every disease has sign and symtoms which is look like same for everyone like headache dizziness nausea so dont focued sign and symptoms because in board u will get only 2 or 3 signs and symptoms question so u can just try to guess....dont waste ur time to learn.......

i got lot of question like which pt need private room? or If pt has this type of disease then which roomate is good for him? U need to know when u need to wear gloves gown mask very important.....hope my advice will help u

The little questions that Kaplan did have in it's books were much harder than Saunders which had thousands of practice questions. I'm not saying that Saunders isn't a good tool because it is if you want to do the comprehensive review, the review part is outstanding because it breaks it down into chapters by system. What I found to be too easy were the practice questions. Those questions weren't hard. The more you practice the questions, the easier the questions will be when you go back and understand the rationales. I'm comparing the questions to that of those that were on NCLEX and those questions were much harder first time around than Saunders questions first time around. Good Luck

saunders is great for content. once you have mastered your content move onto another review that is more challenging, like Kaplan.

Yeah maybe so....it's just wayyyyyy too much info to remember!! I have a review book by Prentice Hall that we used for our NCLEX prep class that I use to go over more content after I read the info in my Hurst book, since I lended my Saunder's book to my soror and 4got to get it back. I usually score about a 70-78% when I use the cd and do a 100 practice exam, then after I re-read content, I score higher, in the 80s. It's just frustrating....I have like 10 sheets of notes thus far, but I still can't remember certain specific details. I know it isn't possible to remember 100% of the info, but I'm just worried that what I have a hard time remembering will be on the test.
