I say run away as fast as you can! Why be commited to a place that doesn't seem to care about you or the patients. I think if you stay in a situation like this you are going to get burned out quickly. I looked around Cincinnati when I was looking for work and there are a lot of opportunities. Cinci Children's is building a new building in West Chester, and there is a brand new hospital going up in Middletown.

Yes, I agree. Get out of that job! You need a place where you will be respected for the person you are and the job that you do. No one should have to put up with that. Especially getting up everday too and having to look forward to that. You do not want anything pinned on you that you had no part of. Such as you were saying there were things there that had not been touched. You have got to protect yourself and your license. Start looking around and putting in apps. Look up the job on the net too, to find out additional info about it ( the ones that you want to apply at). Good luck! You have a good head on your shoulders I have read there. Keep that up!

hey im sort-of in the same situation ;] and let me tell you don't worry about covering for other people because why should you jeapordize your license if they don't even want to make the effort to protect theirs. do what you have to do and do everything right because at the end of everything you are signing your name, also make sure you communicate all your concerns. it's def. not disrespectful to do so and if your concerns aren't addressed then leave. everyones right, don't stay there if you don't agree with how they are handling things being messy is never good it gives lots of room for errors. wish u well ;] and remember in the end you have to do whats best for YOU.

Okay so I have some concerns. Let me start off by saying Im a new nurse, and Im young. Nurse for about 5 months and Im 23 years old. Yes I know deadly in the nursing field. So Im at my first job at a dump. I mean this is the bottom of the barrel. No kind of quality of care what so ever. I am a new nurse but I take great pride in the work that I do. I bust my butt for this place, clean up "messes" that the other nurses leave, seeing how we cant keep steady staff and the staff we do have could really care less about my residents. My DON seems to really have it out for me. She is constantly pulling me in her office for the DUMBEST things. :angryfireYou know the "state" things. I completely understand her pressure since state is always in there, but you would think maybe I could get some kind of understanding when Im in there for four days straight working twelves cleaning up everyone elses mess. Im talking critical labs tucked away and not addressed for weeks. I feel like if I leave now that Im not showing commitment. Ive been there almost 6 months. Im really starting to feel like my license are in jeopardy. Even though I do my work and everything Im supposed to do. As a new nurse I feel like if I approach her with my issues it will be viewed as disrespect. ANY advice is welcome. PLEASE:uhoh3:

Nursing is one career I think...where it doesn't look bad how long you've worked at a facility...I've been nursing for a year...I'm working on my 3rd job...there is such a nursing shortage...they do not care where or how long you have worked at a certain job...they just need help...at least that's my experience...I still do not feel I have found my place in nursing...so will continue to look until I do.
