Hi everyone! We're at the home stretch, WOOOOO! :) This is a silly idea, and I will NOT be doing it. But I thought it would be a fun discussion...
I am applying for a job with a different school district. They are asking for letters of personal reference. So, I am collecting those to send along to them.
I happened to glance at my bulletin board at work, where I pin up little pictures and things my students have given me. One little girl in 3rd grade wrote a journal entry about me in class, and allowed her teacher to photocopy it and give me a copy. It is so sweet, and talks about how nice I am and how everyone should appreciate me. She isn't even a frequent flyer. I got so misty eyed when I read it! :) :) It is so nicely written, that when I glanced at my board, for a split second, I imagined sending it along as a personal reference! How much more pure and honest can you get??
Of course, I won't actually do it. But given the right interviewer, it could work. LOL

That is so sweet and awesome! If you have a portfolio for interviews I would definitely include it! Awwww

I would include it after the "real" letters! You never know, it could be what sets you apart from other applicants!
That's kind of what I was thinking! Not to use it as one of the "actual" ones, but to add it to the back. I would think that someone in education would enjoy it. But with my luck, I'd get the old fuddy-duddy that would scream about unprofessionalism... LOL
I 2nd scrubsrn motion! Do it! If they scoff at you for it then you don't want to work there!

I'd do it.
You guys think I should?! I'd love to have the guts to do it. LOL I'm going to seriously consider it. :)

Do it. Having that kind of an impact on a child (frequent flyer or not) is a huge indication of your character and job performance.

I agree with everyone above, have it either in your portfolio or as an extra letter of reference!
Thanks, everyone!
I sent all of my paperwork in today, but did not include the little girl's journal entry. I realized that the paperwork is actually going to a "middle-man" of sorts, not directly to the school. But, if I am called for an interview, I absolutely plan to bring it with me! :)
