Hi angelkay!

I started out with College Network in July 2002 and then signed on with Excelsior College a year-and-one-half ago. I loved the idea of independent, self-paced study and the ability to keep working as you go. I have had no complaints to speak of thus far. It is not a cake walk, as it shouldn't be, but it is a reasonable curriculum. It usually takes me 6 weeks to go through a course, and then another 2 weeks of study for the test. I just passed NC5 today with an "A". I highly recommend Excelsior's practice tests. They have brought my grades up from a "B" to an "A". It is more expense ($65.00) but well worth it. It gives you an idea of how the test is going to be. They don't use many of the same questions on their "operational" or official test (that would be too easy!) but it gives you a feel for their typical questions. I am eagerly looking forward to finishing in the next couple of months. If you have any further questions please feel free to e-mail me. I'd be happy to help!

Good luck, you are doing a great thing!!! :balloons:

I've been doing the program for 2 months. I've passed NC1&2 and am on my way to 3. I plan on that one in mid March. I have guides through The College Network that work well for me. I usually test pretty well. I plan on taking about 2 tests per month. I just had surgery so I'm taking a bit of time off for now.

The school is great. Not for everyone. You need to be very motivated and a self starter. If you have a friend to study with it goes much better.

Good Luck!!!

Hi there,

I am also starting the rn course in march. Good luck to ya![

I'm taking courses from Excelsior to get my ADN. I'm finished with all the courses except NC 5,6,foundations in nursing, lifespan development and the CPNE. I am finishing the courses in a matter of a few months. I've been satisfied with Excelsior so far.

Can't wait to finish.

LPN- why are you taking Fundamentals? You shouldn't have to take that one, since you're already an LPN. Ask your advisor about that one.

I am also planning to start the LPN to RN program with EC in March. Trying to contact the school, now, to find out about getting the texts from them instead of the publishing company. Good luck with the program!
