I'm doing the ncsbn review as well and i'm scoring "below the passing standard" on every test. I'm taking the NCLEX July 8th for the 3rd time so I'm really nervous. But I think the questions on ncsbn are most similar to actual nclex questions so I'm still sticking to it. I do have other resources as well....probably too many. Don't get discouraged....just keep studying!

Good luck to all of you. I think I may have to retake my test either in late august or september. Im very scared I think I also my try this NCSBN review Ill probably do the 5 week one I hope it helps.

i took my exam in March and failed, and havnt took it since. Im planning to enroll in the NCSBN 3 wk course, I also need some helpful hints

kennate.... My recommendation is to get back in the saddle and test. I waited extended periods of time between retesting and looking back, think that it hurt me more than helped me. Don't get down on yourself for failing, it is common and noone really cares how many times you take to pass NCLEX (it took my 5 attempts), all they care about is that you have your license!!! And your patients certainly don't care either, they just want to know that you are a good, caring nurse that takes care of them and advocates for them!!! GO AFTER IT, because you can do it!! Know your core content (I used Hurst review), practice lots of questions - you can find links to NCLEX 3500 or 4000 on this website (minimum 50-100 a day), and use LaCharity prioritization, delegation & assignment to help you with those prioritization questions. Don't OVERstudy..... you know your information from nursing school, just review it to keep it fresh. Most of all, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!! You have come this far.... NCLEX is passable, you need to get your brain to think in that NCLEX mode. Come here for encouragement and support..... we are here for you and believe in you too!!! I just took and passed NCLEX with 75 questions on Oct. 18th and the only two things that I used for the review was the NCSBN Review and some Saunders. When I first signed on to use the review (I did the 3 week course), I was scoring in the 40% and started to freak out. The questions on the review were like questions I've never seen before. So I kept practicing and if I didn't know something I either looked for it in the Review or in the Saunders book to get a better understanding of the missed content. Even after doing that I was still scoring in the upper 60% to 70%. However, after taking NCLEX, I realized that the NCSBN Review practice questions were very similar to the NCLEX questions in the way they are worded. I actually felt like I was at home taking one of the NCSBN practice tests!! I HIGHLY recommend the NCSBN Review to anyone about to take NCLEX! Just make sure to breathe, take care of yourself, and get some good sleep. You made it through nursing school, you will pass the NCLEX Good luck and take care:)

I used the 3 week NCSBN course almost exclusively, and I really only did the practice questions. I took the Saunder's Comprehensive Test the night before the exam, but that's the only other thing I did. I passed NCLEX in 75 questions. I was scoring in the 60s-70s on the NCSBN question banks, but I probably only "passed" about 5 of the exams in total. Still had a few scores in the 50s. Just make sure to read the rationales and you should be fine. I understand how the scores are making you feel anxious, but I really don't think meeting their supposed pass rate has anything to do with whether or not you pass nclex. I understand your anxiety, though. I was freaking out for a couple of days because I knew how much was riding on that exam!

I HIGHLY recommend the NCSBN program...they administer the NCLEX. I was very comfortable going into the exam, even though I was nervous when I first started. I felt comfortable, because the wording was EXACTLY like the review program. I also used Kaplan and Saunders, Exam Cram. I used Pharm Flash index cards, then I did the program last to get me fully prepared for the exam. I usually got tests in the 70s, but kept plugging at it. I also know a fellow classmate who did the NCSBN only and passed the first time with the minimum. I passed the first time, and I have TERRIBLE test anxiety...but not so much anymore :)
