Lab values not the same!!

Okay Im so excited to take the nclex-pnI remembered lab values and everything, but recently I became discouraged. After memorizing the labs, I found that certain textbooks and websites labs arent the same as the ones I remembered!! Im sooooo confused!! Can anyone tell me the RIGHT lab values to know or where I can find them? I would greatly appreciate it.

Don't memorize the values, know at least the range and what will happen if it's low and if it's high, they won't ask whats the normal value on nclex. :-)

thats what ive been doing but even the ranges arent the same. Its like no two websites or textbooks can give me the same ranges, there all different.

They can't be that different.

NCLEX will have a value that's obviously out of range regardless of what source you memorize....for example, the patient may have a potassium level of 6.8. Obviously that's high by any standard. And another thing, NCLEX won't be asking about values...they'll just be part of the scenario and you'll be expected to incorporate the information while using your critical thinking skills.

yeah, i agree, nclex ask you way too high or way too low than the normal lab values so just keep in mind the range

i agree with everyone. i tested last thursday and one of the lab value was a BUN of 65. which was pretty obvious. you can use saunder's lab value for a guide. good luck

Learn the ranges. Once you start working you will see that different labs will use different values (but not that different). Being able to recognize values that are clearly high, low, or within normal range is what is important, not a specific number.
