Go to any ER and watch how busy we are. Watch what we

do. From A-Z and everything in between, along with being a repairman, janitor,mother , waitress, housekeeping and manage to care for patients. OH, the computer when it has enough memory,ram or what ever you call it, does NOT do it all for you. A good drug book is your best friend.

How many of you Nurses regret stressing out during your journey of becoming a Nurse because you found out working as Nurse was much easier than the learning process?

Do you honestly just follow the physician's orders??

I don't know where you get that information but working as a nurse is much more difficult than doing clinicals both physically and emotionally. There's not even a comparison. Yes you do have to do calculations. The computer does not and should not be relied upon to do everything for you.

Yes, we follow the physicians orders because that's what nurses do but "just" following the physicians orders is not easy, they're not black and white. You have to use everything you learned in school, the experience you acquire, and use critical thinking to follow those orders and stay on your toes.

I think you need to seriously re-consider your motives for going through nursing school. You must walk before you run and believe me, working as a nurse is run, run, run

I think being a nurse is much harder than being a nursing student, there is so much to learn once you graduate. As far as clinicals go typically you have 2-3 patients when you get out of school if you work on a Med-surg floor you'll have 6-8 patients. Just the other night I had 6 patients, no CNA, had 2 patients crash within 5 minutes of each other, I finished assessing my last patient at 0100 which I hate because I want my assessments done by 2100. The purpose of nursing school is to get you to be able to function in the workplace upon graduation, but you're not going to have all the answers and once you're on the job that's where the true learning takes place. Been wondering that myself. Over the last few months tons of old threads have resurfaced.

I read thru the OP posts from before she was banned. Could not tell what happened.
