Hi everyone!
I submitted my application last month and I'm really nervous because of my low TEAS score. Some people that I know (who applied last semester) told me that they didn't get accepted because of their low TEAS score so I'm really scared right now. I finished all my pre-requisites already and just finishing up one more co-requisite. Please comment if you applied for the ADN program for FALL 2016 or [are] still planning to apply next semester. Hope we can share thoughts and ideas here.

Greetings xlilacx,
I am anxiously waiting to hear about my application too! I am sorry that your TEAS score wasn't what you were hoping for. That test is a BEAR. Other threads on this website have indicated that letters tend to go out in the first couple of weeks of April, so we only have about another month to wait. Good thing I am crazy busy - not much time to obsess.
I am currently doing Pharm 203 and the Long Term Care Nurse Aide class. I have decent grades and a good TEAS score, but no paid medical experience. I will be reapplying for spring if fall doesn't work out for me, and I will be able to use the nurse aide class as medical experience to bump up the points on my app.
Fingers and toes crossed for both of us!

Hey! I applied for the FALL 2016 program as well!
Hey! I applied for the FALL 2016 program as well! I have experience working for a home care agency and am currently getting re-certified through the KCC CNA program. Best of luck to us!!
What are your stats like?
Hi Eileenm,
Are you in the Thursday/Friday CNA class? I am doing the Monday/Wednesday class. It has been a fabulous experience so far, and we are almost done with the course.
My stats are:
TEAS: 85
GPA: I never actually calculated it! I have one B on my pre-reqs and that is for a non-nursing related course (History). The rest of my grades are A's.
The strike against me is that I have no direct patient care for this application period. If I don't get in for next Fall I can use my CNA course at KCC to bump up my application for the following Spring.
I know my chances are decent, but I can't assume anything until that letter comes. This wait is driving me crazy!
How about you?
Littlebear'sMama,
Your stats sound incredible. From what I've heard (mostly read on this forum) your chances of getting in are great! I am in the Thursday/Friday CNA class, and start clinicals next week Thursday.
Your stats are better than mine.
GPA: 3.78
TEAS: 80.3
I also go certified as an NA 5 years ago and work for a home care company.
The week of letters is coming soon! Hope we both get in (:
Eileenm,
I loved clinicals! The residents were so awesome. I hope you have a good experience too (: I will be trying not to obsessively check my mailbox in the next couple of weeks.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for both of us!
Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know, I got my letter today and am an alternate. Have you folks heard anything yet?
Well alternate is maybe not the slam dunk you were hoping for, but it's definitely a step in the right direction! You never know who will drop out and leave you a spot in the coming weeks... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
I have only checked my mailbox about 23 times today. No letter.... I was told that letters were sent out yesterday, but we are on windward side, so maybe there is a bit of lag time getting mail to this side....
We just had our graduation for our LTCNA class this morning. I am going to miss my Monday's and Wednesday's with Ms. Bea for sure (: How are clinicals going for you?
lilbear'smama,
Thank you for the positivity! I actually forgot to attach an envelope to my application, so my letter was waiting for me at the Nursing Department office. Once I read it, I immediately marched over to walk in advising and Kristy put some sense into me. What made feel most at ease is that she reminded me that UH Manoa letters are being sent out shortly and a lot of people apply to both, and of course, will choose Manoa over KCC with it being a BSN program and all. So I still have high hopes!!
Clinicals are going great! My class had 14 students in it, so we split up, half at Leahi and half at Kuakini. I'm at Kuakini and am loving it so far. I got a lot of skills done in the first week so I see myself finishing up with clinicals strong.

Hi guys! I also applied for fall 2016. I didn't get my letter yet, but I was alternate listed for spring 2016; however, I didn't get chosen. I applied with a 3.7 GPA, 78% TEAS, and the CNA course. I applied for fall with the same results, so hopefully I get on the alternate list again at the least. Fingers crossed!
