KCC ADN FALL 2016

Hi everyone!

I submitted my application last month and I'm really nervous because of my low TEAS score. Some people that I know (who applied last semester) told me that they didn't get accepted because of their low TEAS score so I'm really scared right now. I finished all my pre-requisites already and just finishing up one more co-requisite. Please comment if you applied for the ADN program for FALL 2016 or [are] still planning to apply next semester. Hope we can share thoughts and ideas here.

Eileenm,

I know! Btw, I remember you! I'm Breann, from that Micro130 class that we had together :smug: haha. This is my third time applying for the program. I was thinking about applying for the LPN program for fall too, but Idk :/

Hi everyone,

Got my letter yesterday, but unfortunately it was bad news. I will try again for Spring, and by then I will be able to put KCC's CNA class on my application, as well as my job at Castle Medical Center. I think my good grades and high test score (all A's and an 85 on the TEAS) couldn't stack up to all the other applicants with work experience. I'll hope for better luck next time!

Good luck to all!

Littlebear'smama,

Sorry to hear that you didn't get in. I'm actually shocked about your results, bcuz for spring 2016, I know a girl who got in with all As & an an 84 (or 86?) on her TEAS, & she had absolutely no CNA work whatsoever.

Thanks bpacis! I knew it would be tight for me given my lack of work experience, but I thought I had a fighting chance with my grades and test score. Gonna go to walk-in counseling next week to see if anything else was wrong with my app, but they did look it over last December and told me that everything was fine. So who knows? Maybe we had some rock star applicants for this round, with wicked high test scores?

Either way, I will keep knocking at the door until they let me in (:

Littlebear'smama,

ohh I see. Yeah it doesn't hurt to try. After I got all my requirements done, I jus applied jus to see what would happen & I didn't get in. My second time, I got wait listed. & I actually got my letter today, & I'm wait listed again. Ugh. But don't give up!!!

lilbear'smama,

I am completely shocked! I thought you would definitely get in with your amazing score & GPA. But seriously, do not give up! During the next application period, stats, GPA, NA course, and work experience will be hard to say no to. At least in the mean time, you can work as a CNA and get your foot in the door so it will be easier to find a job after nursing school. Best of luck to you!

I'm shocked! I thought you're going to make it into the program cause of your grades and TEAS score. But anyway, I got my letter today, I also didn't get in. I'm going to retake the TEAS exam (probably during the summer) and reapply for Spring 2017.

Xlilacx,

sorry to to hear about that. What was your grades & teas like?

Bpacis

I have A's and 2 B's and my teas is 76%.

Xlilacx,

Ohh I see. Almost same as me. I hav 2 Bs & 78 TEAS + my CNA though... Is this your first time applying? Have you tried looking into other schools?

What online classes do you recommend for ZOOL 142? I got a C and is retaking it again to get a better grade. Any suggestions?

Hello Everyone,

Quick update from me - I have been ALT listed for Fall! It's a long story, but an admin mix-up caused my application to get denied based on my residency status. Once the error was realized my application was re-ranked and my status updated. I am going to be at oritentation next week - anyone else from this thread going too?

Jaydgyrl - I took 142 from Dunn last year. I was a very rigorous class. I worked my tail off and got an A. I think As are doable in his class if you can put in the hours of work that he requires. There is a ton of extra credit, so lower test scores can be overcome (that's what saved me). Hope that helps!
