Kaplan questions

Hello. I am taking nclex for the 3rd time and signed up with Kaplan. Does anyone know if their q bank questions are all passing level, or just all their questions in general? From taking nclex before they are the closest to the test that I have seen. Hoping its good prep. Thanks!

May I know what was your study materials in the previous exam? I'm using PDA Lacharity, Lippincott q&A and Kaplan. I think Kaplan questions are hard and most nurses used kaplan thinks that the questions are passing level. But for me Lippincott Q&A is more harder.

Most of their questions are passing level. Kaplan's select all that apply are even much harder than nclex's.

I used hurst the first time which me and all my classmates thought was garbage. Second time I used u world which was way way harder then nclex I psyched myself out when I took it that time. Lapland questions seem to be most like nclex so I'm hoping that helps. It really is about critical thinking and I'm able to see the answers easier with what Kaplan is teaching

Kaplan questions are passing level but for me UWorld is by far the most similar I have seen to the NCLEX.

I thought Kaplan was the best. I had to do the online class as well. I have heard good things about UWorld too

My personal opinion is that Kaplan sucks ass. I made the crucial mistake of using mainly Kaplan on my first attempt. My cousin who also used Kaplan exclusively failed as well.

After using UWorld, I passed on my second attempt with 75 questions. I also had 43 SATA on my second attempt which were super duper easy. SATAs didn't even faze me. UWorld really prepares you. I killed the NCLEX on second try and it was absurdly easy.

The thing with UWorld is that you have to really know it. If you're getting above or equal 60% average, an honest 60% (not looking up answers), there is high probability you will pass.

Although there are many who had below 60% and passed. Basically, just know UWorld like the back of your hand and your NCLEX exam will be successful.

I did u world with my second attempt and failed. í ½í¸’ I thought it was a lot harder then nclex but I can't just control my anxiety

I studied for about 6 months and first I tried ATI the rationales didn't offer much of an explanation for me so I paid for Kaplan after hearing from my friend that "it was the best". I mostly used their videos for content but I just didn't understand their questions and rationales, sometimes it seemed subjective to me no matter how much I tried to use the decision tree. When I came across UWorld I was saved! Lol. After using UWorld for 2 months I felt ready and prepared, there were many few times I looked up a question I didn't understand because their rationales offered a better explanation than the others. I passed the nclex with 89Q and had 11 SATA. Good luck!!

What were your Uworld overall average like? Were you getting sub-par scores like low 50s?? If so, that's probably why you failed. I suggest you re-do Uworld until you are getting a 60% or better average --> without looking up answers.

I have done Kaplan Qbanks and did 10 rounds of the Kaplan Qbank, typed 100s of pages and still failed at 265 questions. My score on Kaplan Qbank was 65%.

When I did UWorld, with final average 64%, the NCLEX looked amazingly easy. I passed without any distress on my 2nd attempt. You will be astonished at your improvement and you will even PASS...... I also have test anxiety, I even nearly vomited on my exam from the stress during my first attempt.

However, my test anxiety got better on my second attempt because I was beyond prepared with UWorld. UWorld relieves the stress.

If you feel good Kaplan, go ahead. But most likely you'll be failing because Kaplan rationales are lacking a significant amount of information. It also lacks critical thinking. Enjoy doing a highly probable 4th attempt at the NCLEX!!!

Telling me I'm going to be retaking it for a 4th time isn't exactly encouraging. My husband had to take me to the ER last night becuSe after I read this I had a sever panic attack. I am 7 months pregnant and can't take my anxiety medication. I failed the first time a year ago because I was pregnant then too and was in the same situation. I failed the second time because my stress isn't able to be controlled and I spent the 3 days before the test in and out of the ER for pregnancy complications and the day of the test my car wouldn't start and was late because I had to fine a ride. U world did prepare me. But maybe it needed a confidence booster and I wasn't getting it from U world . If Kaplan is giving me the confidence and stress relief that I need to pass this then encouraging that and not judging me before you know my situation would be a better idea then telling me I'm going to fail again because I'm not following what worked for everyone else .

Kaplan is good a choice :) i find the nclex test questions somehow similar to how they deliver it. Although i feel like the rationales are not enough because it seems more focused on test taking strategies, and also Kaplan is more useful and if you already have a good foundation of content. I also have the content book and it's also not enough. If you want in depth rationale or for content, try Saunders. Saunder's comprehensive is also good if you have topics that are not familiar with. You may also try UWorld. I tried the trial version of questions and it was good. I was surprised with how the rationale was compared to Kaplan.
