I need some opinions. I am currently using Kaplan to prepare for the NCLEX. I have around 550 questions left in the QBank. My cumulative score is 52. I scored a 67 in my pre diagnostic test. And after taking the 5 day review I scored a 51 on the other test. I take my NCLEX in a few weeks. I feel like I am all over the place with the QBank questions. One time I score a 60, then a 40 and a 50 here, a 76 once. I'm just wondering if anyone who has experience with Kaplan would care to elaborate if it helped them. I am terrified.

I honestly felt that Kaplan was a good tool. I scored randomly between 50s - 70s in the QTrainers, and for QBANK (Finished maybe 800 questions) I only did 25 questions at any given time, but felt they were easier than the trainers. I would suggest that you keep doing them, reviewing the rationales and actually LOOK UP the content on the questions that were on there even if you got an answer right. I looked at UWORLD the day before the exam, and I wish I would have incorporated that tool into my studying. Kaplan doesn't give enough Alternate Format questions. It is normal to feel terrified. Luckily, you still have a few weeks to study! Do your Kaplan Readiness exam, then start on UWORLD if you can. You can do it! Breathe, and slay that NCLEX!
I have also only been doing about 20 questions at a time, multiple times a day. I have 3 kids so it is hard to concentrate for too long at a time. But within the next week I'm definitely going to take time out and away to study. I did the NCLEX prep tests also in Kaplan and did well on the priorities test scoring in the 70s but the SATA I scored a 25!! Horrible. So I am worried tremendously about SATA. My school is saying if we don't score atleast a 60 on the readiness test to not take out NCLEX. But I however am taking it regardless. Thank you for encouragement!!

Have you taken the readiness test yet? If you don't feel ready or you don't think your scores are telling you to, I would strongly consider not taking it. I already failed once and I don't want anyone to ever have to go through that feeling! Trust yourself ultimately, but I wish I took made sure I was ready (scores and mind) before my first try.

I passed on my first, I used kaplan and my scores were much lower than that. I personally felt that kaplan did not look similar to nclex. U world in my opinion is much better.

I did try Kaplan Q bank three months before my exam, it was fine but I wish they have better rationales, I used Lippincott and La Charity after Kaplan but didn't finish it. So fast forward to one month before my exam, I focused on UWORLD and its amazing rationales, I definitely think UWORLD was my best tool, second would be Saunders 6th edition. UWORLD didn't teach any trick but they will teach you what you need to know (content and critical thinking) for you to be confident with every questions you get. I passed with 75 questions on my first try and I am an IEN who graduated 6 years ago
I agree. The rationales aren't great. I try to look up everything I'm not really familiar with. I have been all over the place with my scores on the QBank and finally the last 5 or 6 test I have consistently scored between a 50 and a 60. I have around 200 questions left. Then I will take the readiness. I am anxious about the readiness because I am going to take the NCLEX regardless of the result. I hope I don't have a horrible score and psych myself out over it. I have had a few friends recommend UWORLD also. Fingers crossed I pass and won't have to spend any more money on resources! But if I'm not so lucky I think that I will be investing in UWORLD.
I scored a 62.8% in my readiness. I have started with NCLEX mastery now. I haven't done too awful with it besides in Med Surg. I test this weekend. I'm a basket case right now lol

How did the NCLEX go?! I'm taking Kaplan now and I keep finding myself doing worse as I do the questions. I am thinking of abandoning Kaplan and maybe trying UWorld for questions. I did the ATI predictor in school a few months ago and scored 95% prediction of passing my first attempt.... Any advice would be great!
