Has anyone done the 12 week Kaiser Permanente new grad program? I talked to them and it sounded wonderful. I just wanted to hear other people experiences with Kaiser. T.Y.

I did the ICU new grad program 2 years ago and it was wonderful. Im still where I started....love the unit, love the people! Kaiser also has great opportunities if you wish to advance your education......and the pay is higher then most other facilities.

I work for KP now. The pay is higher than most facilities. The trade off is that it is such a large organization that there is a big problem with communication between depts., facilities, upper management and even staff nurses.
You also have to deal with a big bureaucracy, where the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, continues changing of policies-our running joke is that policy X is good for this week only, next week they'll change it again.

If you don't mind me asking about what is the pay for Kaiser nurses anywhere between the Sacto area and Bay Area. They are opening 3 near me soon and was considering going and putting in an application for anything right now while I am going to school. Thanx

When I talked to HR at Kaiser Santa Teresa in San Jose, starting was 33.00. Evening is about 3-4 dollars more and nights about 6-7. I think Kaiser is good if you think you may move, because you keep your seniority from one facility to another.
