anyone took the exam this june? is it difficult? any advice what areas need to focus? thank you very much!

The test is a computer adaptive test so what was on one persons test will not be the same as the person sitting next to them or someone who tests later in the month. NCSBN posts the NCLEX test plan as to % areas covered such as 10-15% pharmacology (example) which is available to everyone.

I found it extremely difficult! I studied all of my core concepts and knew my info. But the majority of the test was prioritization, infection control, and using Maslow's hierarchy and basic human need model. Make sure you know hot to critically think out a situation and apply the concepts to any situation. It was very difficult for me but I passed :)

The test is really different for everyone... I took it the same day as a friend and I got a TON of select all that apply questions (maybe a third of my test, seriously, it was more than 20) and got six questions on a single Peds disorder that I hadn't reviewed in a long time. I passed in 75 questions and so did my friend - but she said she only got five SATAs and she didn't get a single Peds question.

Basically, you just have to be familiar with pretty much anything you studied in nursing school. ;)

The hard thing about NCLEX like everyone else said above is its really different for each person. I finished in 75 questions and only had 7 select all and no math while my best friend tested Thursday and went the full 275 and had a ton of select all and other alternative questions. We had both gotten a lot of delegation and priority questions. Good luck to you!!

Jumping in on this thread as I am curious as to what others have to say...

Congratulations on passing!

As JustBeachyNurse said, every test will contain the same content/catagories and within a certain percentage range (ie: management of care will be 17-23% of everyones test. But you may get 17% an I might get 23% and someone else 20). There is really no way to decide for yourself what you should concentrate on (Diabetes vs Sickle Cell) by reading what others had on theirs.

What stood out to me in my exam was the amount of prioritization (who do you see first/call first), delegation and teaching.
