The latest CIR junked... No Bridge legislation Passed yet. No additional Visas given to foreign nurses coming to US... and yet the priority dates jumped from last month's visa bulletin of June 2005 to CURRENT!! Meaning they're processing applications REAL TIME? What happend? How did the line moved so fast when no visa are available/hence given for it to move? How can it be processing current applications when I know so many from previous years application that has no visa numbers yet due to the retro. What do you think.

Thread moved to International Forum where it is more appropriate.

The July Visa Bulletin is only in effect for the month of July. It does not even start until July 1st. So even though it states that all are current for July, it does not mean today.

And this is for the EB-3, it is not specific for nurses. Nurses are only going to be getting a slice of what is available. There are many in other fields that have been waiting for their PD dates to become current.

And if anything like the floodgates that opened when the H1-B petitions had their open window in April, expect the number of petitions to be submitted for these to go rather quickly as well also.

The retrogression is still not officially over, this is just an open window of opportunity, but do not expect it to last. Other blogs are speaking of it starting again in October, but in fact, it is not over. There still is no Schedule A for nurses.

Like all things this is too good to be true, and good things never last. This is just a very, very temporary thing. So forget it and just go back to what you were doing in PI. No reason to celebrate.

It's a long story Siverdragon. I took this long a processing for a lot of mishaps. Anyway, the case of the matter now is that I've completed my ds230 and all the requirements. Paid my fee bill months ago. everything is with my attorney in US and they said they will expedite every case that's completed. My only question is...will I get through this window of "current processing" before it retrogressed again bu Oct?

It depends on how fast your lawyer or agency works and as someone mentioned already, w/ a PD of 2005 you should have been in the US a long time ago.

Not to mention that the usual waiting time for interview dates in the US Embassy in Manila is at least 3-4 months, sometimes even reaching 5 months at it's peak. There are times the line is less than 3 months but the norm is 3-4 months.

Good luck.

Yes, the July Visa Bulletin is current. It's also current for the Indians, the Chinese, all the other nationalities, for the nurses on tourist visas now in the US waiting to file their AOS, the nurses in the Middle East, the UK and most noticeably, for the thousands upon thousands of H1B workers in the US who have been waiting year after year to get their green cards. We are a drop in the bucket. The window will open, and close in the wink of an eye. :nono:

But this time it may have reduced to one- two months in Manila. Here the waiting time before retro started was 4 months. Now that US embassy has given interview date on August onwards, as far as I hear!

My 2 cents!

It would be great if the line will indeed be just 1-2 months for Manila this time around. If I'm not mistaken, the US embassies in Manila and India are one of the busiest in the world. Even the line for a US tourist visa in Manila takes at least 1.5 mos.

ooo... yeah i remember when i first apply for a tourist visa in 1999.. there are 5 lines from the luneta grandstand up to the embassy... there was no scheduling yet.. it was still a first come first served basis... wow.. i was in line for 1 week and we would sleep in the line and we would ask somebody to take our place just for us to take a bath in our home.. other who are affluent would tend to rent a room in a hotel nearby..

after a week of falling in line.. i was denied of a visa.. hehehehe it was a memorable experience...

whats your priority date? you might have submitted your application in 05 but some papers might have been approved way into 06.
