Hey folks,
I was just curious if any direct commissionies attending the July OBLC course has gotten orders yet? If not, have you heard when we may be getting them? The lease I currently have is up at the end of May so I'm hoping to have a move date relatively soon.

Don't know when my OBLC is, just got orders for my command yesterday and they will let me know. Do you have orders saying you are in the July group?
Thanks for the quick response kathy! All I've heard specificially was from Major Hairston stating that I was in the July OBLC. Beyond that it sounds like they're requesting funding now and we should be getting orders sometime soon (beginning of May). It's good to see at least one person has orders so far.
Thanks!!

they arrange transport for you....right? They did for me 2 yrs ago. Just making sure you didn't book the ticket yourself.
good luck,

Did they tell you to book the ticket yourself? Travel is arranged by another office but only after your orders are cut. You need to find if they are arranging a flight for you or not.

Jeck's right - I know with the AF if the ticket is booked by you before orders are cut (or before they give you implicit instructions to do so) you won't necessarily be reimbursed for the ticket.
My understanding is the military is supposed to arrange your transportation UNLESS they tell you to do it yourself. The reasoning for this is the ticket can cost upwards of a grand depending on where you're going and when; the Feds do it for you so you're not going into debt for an "ordered" expense. They get you a refundable military ticket as a just in case measure. (A refundable ticket costs about twice as much as a regular ticket.)
Not trying to butt in - just want to help.
this is my understanding as well.
YES...After I got the OBLC order, my recruiter told me that I have to call to make a schedule for flight and send my order to Carlson Waginolit (I think this is the office that you fuys talked about) by myself. Some recruiters they do for their soldiers. but my recruiter didn't...I did call and booked ticket.
My tickets are ready, and Carlson Waginolit told me that I am ready and they will send me my e-ticket by July 14. I checked United Airline and my ticket is booked. so...
hucks......I don't know why my recruiter told me and told my friend to book ourself.....
after I booked and they sent me e-ticket and said
YOUR ESTIMATED AIRFARE ON 26MAY AT 1401 IS AIR/RAIL TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES ON THIS ARE BILLED TO A CENTRALLY BILLED ACCOUNT.
IS OWNED BY THE GOVERNMENT AND THESE ARE NOT REIMBURSABLE TO THE TRAVELER.
what should I do??
That may mean they bought your ticket already and that's the one you have to use. Purely a guess but that's what it sounds like. They paid for it out of their money.
You may be out some money here unless you can convince the airlines to refund you less a fee, and my guess is that's not likely. If that is the case, I'd have the recruiter's head on a platter in front of their supervisor, because that's insane.
Again, I'm making a guess based on what you're telling me; it's entirely possible I'm wrong.
