job before May COT

i got a call back from an interview i had two weeks ago. i passed the oral exam, and now they want me to go to the hiring interview. i have already commissioned and signed all the paperwork. should i or should i not try to get hired at this job knowing that i will be attending may 14 COT?

Be up front with them about this. If you think about it, you would either be still on orientation or just completing it by the end of April. Understand the problem if you need the money.

They may not hire you if you tell them you are leaving shortly. Orientation costs a hospital alot of money. You may end up ******* some people off, but you're leaving anyway, so how much do you care? lol. It would be really great to get a taste of how nursing is done in the civilian world for you before you leave. As a manager, I wouldn't hire someone leaving in a couple months.

Be sure there's not some clause in there that says if you leave orientation before X date you owe them money. I've heard of that before.

thanks y'all for the response. i'm going to check out the position anyway. it's prison nursing, and i was just really curious as to what it was going to be like. if no such clause exists, then i might just give it a go.

Now THAT'S some good experience...and at least if you hate it, you know you're leaving...

Lol... I was in this position, and was up front about it. I told my boss I was probably leaving in May for military. She was actually very impressed and happy for me and said that she'd let me work till then. Of course I only got like 3 days for orientation and I know most places put people on months for orientation.
