Hi please help new to nursing. How do I calculate mls/hr for 1g paracetamol to give in 10-20 minutes. Thanx

Please help. How to calculate mls/hr to give Iv flucox 2g in 100mls over 20 minutes. Thanx

First, you need to know the volume of medication to calculate an infusion rate.

Also, if you post what you have done to work the problem, this allows us to better understand where you might be having problems.

Does your textbook give you standard formulas for medicine calculations? Have you tried to use them?

It won't help you learn if we just give you the answer. You need to work at this yourself.

ETA: Apparently you already are a nurse, which is very frightening. Please go to your preceptor or nurse manager for immediate help, rather than asking the Internet for help in taking care of your patients.

Are you actually an RN?

Are you actually an RN?

From another post, she is. And at work, asking the Internet for help taking care of patients. In 2 other posts, I've asked her to go to her preceptor/nurse manager for help.

Yet in your other thread you state you are a new nurse. Which is it? If you are not a licensed nurse, then you should not be representing yourself as a nurse as you do in your username and your other thread. Also, a website forum should never be where you go for answers directly related to patient care in progress. This is what instructors, preceptors, coworkers, and a whole host of other resources available at the facility are for.
