I have to agree with Ryan.. as a student entering nursing school in August, I'm afraid that I wont know important things when I need to know them.. but to ask on a website forum? That's inexcusable. The OP is a danger to his/her patients if they cannot ask for help when they have absolutely no clue how to dose medicine. Why werent you paying attention in DA and Drug Dosage classes??

My guess is a nursing student and is trying to trick the other people into anwsering a question. Not exactly what I call "studying". If you are a student its OK not to know everything right away (I am sure we all remember what that was like!) But you need to learn on your own, with classmates, looking thought your text ect because in the real world you can't go online for anwsers.

I can understand that, but, with what Ryan said, that's a dangerous student. If they want to cheat and take shortcuts now, they'll cheat and take shortcuts when they graduate. It wouldve served the OP better to pull out their texts or notes and figure it out themselves.

Either way, what's worse? Taking a shortcut and trying to have us do homework -or- not knowing the answer when it is spelled out exactly on the bag in front of you...no math needed?

Ok, seriously? I see only two options, 1-you're a student and still dont know enough to make you anything but dangerous, and wanting others to answer questions out of the textbook for you or 2-You are a seriously dangerous nurse and i hope that you seek help quickly for your own license and the safety of your patients.

Wow... You have got to be kidding.... How wrong! I am a Clinical Infusion Specialist and can tell you that many nurses, RN's and LPN's alike... FREAK-OUT re. IV therapy and can't see the forest thru the trees... It is not Unusual to have this question asked. I get it from Nurses all the time.... Some nurses have greater infuion information than others, but SO MANY lack the needed information to do the job appropriately... Does this nurse need help.. Yes, but reducing her or him to tears is not the way to do it.

I read a lot of disturbing information on this site, but this scares the beejeebus out of me! If this is true (and I've no reason to doubt your experience), thank goodness there are dedicated infusion specialists around in hospitals and clinics. Too bad that's not the case in *every* institution.

I can't agree with you here - this is very basic and it frightens me to think that nurses could be making it through school and passing NCLEX without the ability to understand such simple instructions. This is not rocket science!

Sorry, but I'm an old nurse from the times of mixing your own meds and figuring the rates by drops per minute!

I believe you misunderstood me. I am in no way saying it was OK to ask for anwsers here, in fact I was saying ask her classmates or read the text. I also said that in the real world you CANNOT take short cuts. So I believe we had a misunderstanding. I was however saying that I believe she is a student and I do remember what freaking out like a student is like so instead of 1. giving her anwsers and 2. putting her down because she aasked for help here maybe we could GUIDE her for example "using the text book" no saying she is a dangerous nursing student. That is an unfair judgement but OP you do need to use your book!
