ISU 4 Year Program??

I hear alot about the LVN - BSN program at ISU, but has anyone

gone through the 4 year program they are offering? If so, how difficult is it to get in?

Im thinking of transferring over there. What do you guys think? Should I get my LVN first or try to transfer?

OIC. It's largely a distance learning thing though whereas ISU is a traditional school with dorms, etc. I think because they now have a distance nursing track that some people think they are a distance learning school which isn't the case. I just think that may be causing some confusion.

I think this is the case. The assumption that because they (ISU)offer "distant learning" it is assumed that there is not an actual school. When the case is is that it is an atual school that offers a "distant" program. The UOP that is near me is a big office building that they hold classes in. I do not believe there are dorms and such there. They are geared toward making it easier for the "working" population to obtain a degree. There is a campus in norther California that has a RN BSN program. I am not aware that there is one here in sothern that does though.

I live fairly close to the main ISU campus, and it's a well respected school in the area. If you chose their program, you chose wisely. :)

It is the only distant learning program for RN available in Ca...... Glad it is one with a good reputation.

I've gotten positive remarks a couple of times when I've been at clinicals with my nametag on and I'm in Maryland so I thought that was a good sign too. :yeah:

That is great to hear. I am hoping that by the time I enroll there is that kind of aura here about the school. I have come into contact with a few people that are doing the generals (like me), in my area. But no one that is the program yet.
