ISU 4 Year Program??

Published

I hear alot about the LVN - BSN program at ISU, but has anyone

gone through the 4 year program they are offering? If so, how difficult is it to get in?

Im thinking of transferring over there. What do you guys think? Should I get my LVN first or try to transfer?

I have heard of the distant learning LVN-BSN program (3yrs). Have not heard of the 4yr option though.

Yea, me neither I just found out a couple days ago upon browsing the site

Heres the link:

Ok that is different than the LVN to BSN program. That is for someone that does not have licensure at all.

Were you under the impression that this is a distance program? Not sure why this is posted in the distance learning forum. The LPN-RN at ISU has a distance option, not the traditional BSN program.

The above link does not look like is for the ISU lvn to bsn distance learning program. It looks like it is just a regular bsn program.

Exactly. I think there's some confusion that ISU is also a "virtual university" and perhaps people don't understand that, unlike the other options (Excelsior, UofP, etc), ISU is a real brick and mortar school.

I know. This option looks like it is for those who live in Indiana to get thier initial RN licensure.

Excelsior and U of P are also real brick-and-mortar schools.

No they aren't. At least not Excelsior. You cannot attend any physical classes at Excelsior. It's entirely testouts.

If U of P stands for University of Pheonix there are actual buildings that hold classes one nite a week. Most of it is independent learning but they have to get together xx amount of times during the "semester". At least here in CA there is one down the street from my house. Before I went into nursing I looked into some of thier programs.

Sorry- you are correct that EC does not have in-class courses. They are not all testouts, though. They do have some online/web based courses.

U of P has campuses across the US. There's one about 15 minutes from my house.
