Is it true fail two classes and you`re out!

My school 80 is passing and you can only repeat one nursing course.

My school is the same --you fail two classes and you are out. But I think that's pretty reasonable. It's better than failing one class & your out.

Plus I'd think that if you you failed one class in one semester & are about to fail a second class the second semester it would lead me to believe that either you don't get it or the work is too much for you. It's best for the student to take a break from the program and try again--2nd time may be the charm.

I think your right. Some people underestimate how hard nursing school is going to be. It's probably better to set strict guidelines to weed out the ones that chose nursing on a whim and didn't really research what being a nursing student or nurse entails.

I wonder if schools have to have a certain percentage of nursing graduates that pass the NCLEX to keep their accredidation? If that's the case...it's in the schools best interests to have these strict guidelines in place.

Two strikes and you are out in my school. I guess it's better than one failure and you are out. We do have to get a 90% minimum in med math to before we can go on clinicals though.

Our school was the same and I agree with the policy one thing That I think sucks is NYS stopped letting 3 rd semester RN students become LPN's which I disagree with the last semester in our school was tough 15 students did not make it. that is 3 years of there life kinda in limbo now. TO me I know the standards need to be high but You could really start to burn people out before they even become RN's with no way to have a backup plan.

I don't know the specific #s, but yes, a school can lose it's accreditation if they cannot successfully get enough students to pass NCLEX.

Sure, if you fail 101 and take it again, you'll most likely pass (because you are sitting through it a second time). Now you take 102 (or whatever is next), and you fail that... it shows that you obviously need to hear things twice to get it. How many times can you give someone a second chance...
