Hi everyone out there, I would like to ask if the LPN is still demanding abroad. I am from PHilippines and studying LPN for one year. I am currently enrolled at kENNEDy gLobal.. I am very willing to work abroad, and there is an issue here that LPN is not really demanding in US... please... I really need to know.:sniff:...

I am a new member in allnurses and I find it wonderful.. Hope all of you are friendly not "rude"...because I read some comments/replies, and there are some who are so mean in replying.. Hope I won't get those rude replies, coz it break my heart.:(

As far as I know, one can only get clearance to work in the USA as a nurse, as a BSN RN, not as an LPN from the Philippines.

There is a high demand for RNs in the USA, not so for LPNs in most places. But still as a noncitizen, you would need an RN-BSN, not a LPN.

In addition, with retrogression in place, it will be several years trying to immigrate to USA as a nurse. Please review the large number of threads on this topic.

yes nursing homes are always looking for lpns.

You can not get a visa with PN. For immigration purposes you have to be RN. Check out the Philippine forum as much has already been written on this.

Moving this to the International forum

The US government will not issue a visa if you have only the LPN training from your country. They do not accept LPNs that even trained in the US for a visa to work in the US legally.

There are also no other countries that will accept the LPN for immigration purposes of getting a visa that will permit you to work.

Licensure and immigration are two very different things and your school keeps forgetting to tell the students this.

We have seen a few of the schools try to send their graduates to the US with the H2-B visa, however, those that get caught by ICE are getting deported as that is not a legal visa for the nurses to be using. The US does not have a shortage of LPNs, nor do any other countries.

Your other issue is that your government does not even accept this training for licensure as well. So the prospects of getting work when you are done with your program are going to be zero.

It is not a point of being rude, but this is how things are and there is no reason to sugar coat things and tell you that everything will be fine when it will not be.

Best of luck to you. There is already much written this very topic in a sticky at the top of the Philippine Forum.
