Here is my dilema. first I should have spoken to my nursing adviser when I first started school, but I didn't. I finally went and talked with her 2 weeks ogo.
I would have finished all my pre-req's this comnig spring if I had seen her sooner and would have been able to apply to the nursing program then. But becasue of me lacking one class I wont be able to apply till the end of next fall.
My question to you all is, do you think it is possible to cram more than 13 credits in one semester so I can try to finish by the end of spring??
(reason i'm saying 13 credits is my A&P 2 will be 5 credits)
or do you think that would be too much?
I'd love to be able to start the nursing program next fall, but apply next fall and then wait till the following spring...
what would you all do?
thanks for your help and advice. :)

Yes if you are not working and know how to manage your time.

Totally depends on what else you have going in life, work? other commitments etc? It's so dependant on what you think you can do. They say figure roughly three hours study time per hour of class time. Not sure if I can say that's accurate, I think it totally depends on the student, how you study, how fast you learn material, etc.

Also depends on what classes they are too!!!
well I will for sure be taking 13 credits(A&P 2(5 credits), comp 1(4credits), Oral Communications(4 credits)...)I am already taking 13 credits right now and it isn't too bad.
THe class that I was thinking of doing in the winter would be pathophys)4 credits), I would have the same teacher for that and A&P, and would'nt it kinda go along together???
So that would be a total of 17 credits.
I only work part time at night for 5-6 hours, so I don't think it would be that bad (I don't work and go to school on the same days either).
Just kinda wantedt to get an idea of what you all would do or have done.
I jsut don;t want to burn myself out of risk my GPA.
I still ahve a month to make that descion.
I might talk to my teacher and ask him what his thoughts are on me taking those 2 together since he will be teaching both.
Thanks for your replies

Welcome to my world.
In order to graduate for Spring, I'm taking the maximum 20 hours this semester. Included are A&P II and Lab, Organic Chem, 3 Psych's and a Guitar Class (believe it or not, Guitar is stressing me out more than most so far!!).
It's definitely doable. I'm glad to see you won't be working much. I think that will help a lot. Just make study schedules and I think you'll be fine.
Good luck!!

You have to take Guitar lessons??? WOW...never heard of that. Are you gonig to a University or a community college??
I kinda wish my college had sports. I'd like to do something active for a change.
Good luck with your schedule.
I can see how the guitar lessons would be stressful. I took them before. I think my hands are too small cuz I could never reach far enough :chuckle
So are you going to be a guitar playing nurse :rotfl: :)

I'd love to go to a cc with FOOTBALL!!! I did find one that is not too far away, but I'd pay more for that school's tuition even with living in that county, than I do now. (and I pay out-of-county rates now!)
So, I guess I'll just have to deal with watching football games for my dd's high school, and of course, the Cowboys on TV. lol
fun2care (sorry I don't know your real name), yea it would be fun but more $. I'm like you I'll just watch it on TV :)
You only have 1 day left to find out..I bet your on pins and needles. I'm sure you will be getting in. Good luck :) can't wait to hear your good news.

That is funny about the guitar class. If you took because it sounded good, then more power to you. Lol. Guitar playing nurse is funny. I am taking 14 credits this semester, but may take more next semester. I have a hubby and two kids. It is kind of hard to keep on top of all the studies and projects, but I am doing it. If you don't have kids or other committments, go for it. If you can handle those science classes all together, I would think you could handle another class or two on top of what your doing now. I am in Organic/Biochem and 3 other gen ed classes. I find the Chem class kind of stressful. I am passing it, but it is still a demanding amount of time studying for it. Well hope you get really good on that guitar. Do you play country or rock?
