Im currently here in the United States and I am a tourist, I went here to take my NCLEX-RN exam,I know all the requirements and I will be mailing them soon, by the way I am already a licensed nurse in the Philippines, Is it possible, for me to take the NCLEX-RN examination here, because they require a social security number but i dont have any...
another thing, in a case that, what if I get out of status waiting for my eligibility or ATT,because I was only given 6 months what possible action can I do?
a friend told me that I can take the LVN board exam here in the US, what are its requirements? and how can I apply for it? is it the same as NCLEX-RN?
I would appreciate your feedback on this...
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! :)

by the time you recieve your elibility your tourist may lapsed already and you need to go back to philippines. better take your exam here at philippines. why will you take the LVN where you can apply for an RN licensure? thers nothing you can do about it but to go home and do the other things here for legality matters. goodluck!

LPN does not qualify you for immigration and why would you work as a LPN when you are an RN. The NCLEX can be taken at home. Enjoy your vacation and have a safe trip home.

Even if you sit the exam in the US there is no way you can adjust your visa and stay. Same goes for ATT your tourist visa will not be extended. Better to return home and sit it and wait. You do not need a SSN to sit the exam but depending on the state if they need SSN to issue a license then you can do nothing but wait but should get a letter stating you meet requirements and passed NCLEX

Some states will allow you to sit for the NCLEX exam but you WONT be able to work with out a social security number.

Every state will permit one to test without a SSN#, the issue is that the majority will not issue licenses any longer without one.
Next is that the US government will not permit you to remain in the US to sit for the NCLEX exam, there is no reason for that since it is given in your country. There is also no way to remain in the US and expect to be able to work; we are under a retrogression and you are looking at five years plus for a chance at a green card. With the exam being offered in Makati there was no reason for you to specifically come to the US to write the exam, the US government does not even issue a visa based on that need since it is offered all over. Average wait time to get approval to even sit for the exam is about 4 months on average, so it is almost impossible for one to write the exam here if they never applied for licensure before they arrived here to begin with. You do not apply to sit for the exam, but you would be applying for licensure as an RN her and need to be granted permission to sit for the exam as a start.
The passing of the NCLEX only is far from the only step in the process, you will need to take and pass the English exams as well as have a Visa Screen Certificate in hand as well.
Please have a safe journey home.
5 months ago I was in the United States.. after 6 months of staying there I was able to take the NCLEX-RN exam...
but unfortunately i failed...
now im back here in the Philippines..I am now in the process of preparing for a retake, i have the form for retake, but i do not know the how to's of applying here for NCLEX-RN in the PI..
I will appreciate your feedback on these..once again thank you...
1. Ask your bank if the managers check is the samething as a money order. Ask them what the difference is.
2. I'm sorry I don't know the anser to your second question.
3. Did you find out what your weaknesses were? If so, did you study those areas that you were found weak in? If not, I suggest you do so. What review materials did you use? Did you use a comprehensive book for NCLEX preperation? I used Saunders for the PN, and for me it was too easy compared to the acutal NCLEX questions. I also used Kaplan test taking strategies, and that helped me a lot. I've heard that Lippencott (don't know if I spelled it right) has a good comprehensive book for NCLEX. Hope this helps. Good Luck

Don't know what a managers cheque is, but you should be able to get an international draft, that's a cheque drawn in US dollars (in this case, can be any currency).
