Sorry, never been there but, like Mary, would love to go. Am interested in your plans and how they work out! How long will you be gone? I assume you will not be arranging to be part of a tour group? I'm sure there is a lot of into on the internet, hmmmmm, will have to browse... Thanks for sharing!

I've been there as part of a huge group trip (like, 40 people) with an organized itinerary. I will say, the itinerary was... aggressive, so I would plan not to pack too many activities into a single day.

So My son and I are going as a sort of last mother son adventure before he is off the military. We will be in Cork for 7 days - this is where my maternal Grandfather's people are from. Then we will fly to Dublin for 4 days before returning to the states. We are not going as part of a tour but making our own plans. Will be staying in AIR BNB. apartments.

Sounds like a fun trip, Hppy. I love sharing family history with the kids. Looking forward to seeing some of the actual geography with them someday. All the best to your son!

Alas we did not will have to plan for trip early next year. AIR BnB refunded my deposits but I am still fighting with the airlines about my fares
