Interview

Hello all,

I have an interview coming up for an infection control nurse post. Wondering if anyone can offer tips/interview questions they may have experienced? I’ve researched a lot on the current initiatives, current guidelines etc.

any ideas on scenario based questions?

many thanks

Scenario based,

You recieve information indicating a ward has a C duff outbreak with 4 cases confirmed what are your actions

Results indicating a theatre attributed infection of staph aureus are sent through, what do you do

During spot check audit you have serious concerns relating to ward cleanliness and IPC practice, the ward sister is dismissive what is your next course of action

There is a major flood within a haematoligy ward area with high risk immunocompromised patients, you are asked for advice about reopening the area what do you consider.

Hilarious ???????

Haha - duff looks more appetising than c.diff.

Thank you XB9S for your help - these are some of the scenarios I have prepared for - hopefully something along these lines will prop up.

Scabies outbreak on the unit. How do you contain it? Treatment and teaching regarding staff and patients?

I think C Duff is what New Zealanders get!

TB exposure, how to follow up staff and patients and risk stratification.

Possibly some quality improvement ideas or any projects you have been involved in or would like to commence. Improvement methodology.

Conflict, food services manager not believing that her staff are putting patients meals trays on the top of the rubbish bins (still sour about that one, but very grateful for CCTV).
