I have recently completed my Bachelors in nz and have been applying for graduate programs. I have attended one interview, it was behavioral based quests as well as i had to enact a surgical scenario where 25 years old female was admitted into ward after laproscopy with nausea and abdomen pain. While enacting the scenario i did assess her for pain( c/o 8/10) on the pain scale, checked her temp which was 36.1, checked the wound site (was slight oozing) and her BP was 88. So i asked her whether she was drinking enough water, and she said no so i asked her to increase her water intake as her bp was low and she could be dehydrated. I also checked her drug chart she was charted with morphine was not administered so i gave it to her after checking her identity bracelet. and told her it might take sometime to help in reducing the pain, but if the pain doesnt get better she could call the bell and i will ask the doctor to review her. I also told her that anyhow i will call the doctor and request him to chart fluids for her so that it can help her with keeping her hydrated. But during the scenario i forgot to enact and show the panel how i would communicate with the doctor, I am worried would this go against me??? coz i was nervous!!! Also i panicked at the end while i was keeping my file in my bag coz the charge nurse was looking at me.. so i just mumbled to myself saying i will do this later LOL.. I havent heard any thing back from them, it has only been 3 days now though.. But i did send the grad prog coord thanking her for giving me an opportunity and requested a feedback from her so that i could improve on my weaknesses.. but i havnt heard anything back from her either!! I know she could be busy with the orientation week for the 1st group of new grads who started on monday..
I am just wondering would me getting panicky at the end or not calling the doctor during the scenario go against me.Also i forgot to check the heart rate and respirations while checking her for vital signs!!! Please someone tell me if these would go against me!
