Interview Questions

Hello there, I am about to have my very first interview...ever! and I was wondering if anyone could help me with questions that are likely to be asked.

I have already done quite a few eg strengths weaknesses etc but its other things aswell like - do they ask you about policies, what kind of initiative questions do they use? Any help will be great!!! THANK YOU!!!!!! :)

A question that I had in several interviews when I graduated was a prioritizing question such as..You have just come out of report and you have a pt call out with chest pain, an unsteady confused pt crawling out of bed and a pt with a new blood transfusing complaining of SOB and extreme itching...what do you do? who do you see first and why? Good luck at your interview!! I am sure you will do great.

Great!! Thank you for your help :)

I had a question which asked, "Tell me about a time you exhibited leadership." This was the one question I had not prepared for; floundered a little, muddled my way through it, got the job anyway and am now orienting in the ICU.

Good luck! Try to relax.

The question I remember best is what d you do if you enter a pt.'s room and they are not responding. Remembered to check vitals, and ask about DNR. Good Luck.

U guys are brilliant!! Thank you for your help!

Other things you may get asked are:

- about the NHS modernisation angenda

- knowledge and skills framework,

- where you see yourself in x years,

- describe a situation you showed leadership qualities in, or

- describe a situation where you learned something which affected your practice...
