interview for ccu unit

Hi everyone, i have an interview in a critical care unit this week. I've never done critical care, been a tele nurse for almost 6 years. I presently am a night time charge nurse of a 38 bed chf/ms unit. It's a new facility, there is a variety of patients from post open heart ect. I'm nervous, if i do get the job can i do it? I have good assessment skills, tele skills but have avoided ccu for soo long. Should i make the jump or stay where i am?

I say go for it! I too was intimidated by ICU nursing. I've been doing it for almost 2 years now and I wouldn't go back to the floors if you PAID me 50 bucks/hr! Good luck!

Hey Lou, you like your job more than I do.... i'd run to any floor that paid me 50$ an hour!!:p

Jane, i agree with Lou. You're going to kick yourself in the rear for not going to ICU a long time ago!

Let us know how it goes.
