Interprofessional class

I'm in a BSN program and this semester we have a interdisciplinary course where we get to work with med students, PT students, social work students ect. I think it's pretty cool :) Anyone else have a class like this? I'm just curious

Nope, not that I'm aware of but that does sound interesting. :) Imagine all the input and different ideas one can get by just picking the others brain. Sounds like a great learning experience to me.

my old school did that. it was great running into classmates in the hospitals later. good bonding, and more collegial relationships.

Excellent. This means you'll be more familiar with the disciplines and experience collaboration. This is what we need to see in nursing education (and medical education, and physical therapy education, pharmacy, etc).

no , but i wish i did. sounds like a good class

we don't have a class like that but fall semester there was a lecture offered on interdisciplinary communication and there was a simulation lab w/ 2 nursing students presented w/ a scenario (that would involve calling a dr) and a 4th year neurology resident from one of the hospitals our school goes to. i actually volunteered at the first one. its still a work in progress but i definitely learned alot from the experience.

i do wish we would have a class how to communicate effectively with drs, therapists, etc. it would be beneficial to all members of the healthcare team imho
